The Association proposes to supplement the Law of Ukraine “On State Financial Guarantees of Medical Care of the Population” with only one paragraph.
But this amendment will allow the state to cover the full cost of treatment of Ukrainians in public and municipal medical institutions, and partly in private ones.
“So that the patient can freely choose the hospital for himself, It is proposed to introduce a voluntary surcharge mechanism. That is, Ukrainians will have the opportunity, if they wish, to receive medical services in private clinics. In this case, partly — within the NHSU tariff — the state will pay for it, and the remainder that will not be covered by the tariff will be paid independently,” said Olena Yeshchenko, head of the Association of Private Medical Institutions.
